DISPAX-REACTOR® DRS is a high-performance in-line dispersing and homogenizing machine for the production of microemulsions and fine suspensions. Incredibly high speed gradients (up to 190,000 1/s) in combination with a unique generator design allow droplets of liquid phases and particles of solids to be ground to the smallest sizes. As a result, it is possible to produce stable emulsions and suspensions even without the use of emulsifiers and thickeners. Due to the extremely high energy density in the working chamber, it is possible to reduce or completely eliminate dispersion aids.
Typically, DRS machines are equipped with a two-stage rotor-stator system (generator). Due to the fact that the outer edge of the rotor reaches a high circumferential speed of up to 40 m/s, the need for a third dispersing stage is eliminated. The design and high quality of the DRS machine is comparable to the ULTRA-TURRAX® UTL and DISPAX-REACTOR® DR machines . In this regard, the machine finds its most frequent application in the pharmaceutical industry, where the quality of the finished product, materials and equipment surfaces are subject to rather strict requirements.
The DISPAX REACTOR® DRS 2000 inline disperser program includes five sizes with throughputs (relative to water) from 700 to 40,000 l/min. All machines can be operated with the same rotor circumferential speed, which ensures reliable scaling when transferring technologies from the laboratory to production.
