MK Colloid Mill
The IKA MK 2000 is a high-performance flow colloid mill for wet fine grinding of hard and granular materials. The MK 2000 is ideal for the production of colloidal solutions as well as particularly fine emulsions and suspensions. Due to its excellent dispersion results, in which a narrow particle size distribution is achieved in a single pass, the MK 2000 colloid mill can be used in continuous processes. In complex wet fine grinding processes, the colloid mill is integrated into a recirculating line with a working capacity.
For optimal adaptation to the technological task, colloid mills can be equipped with various grinding tools. The most commonly used are rotor-stator systems with spiral or cross-cuts of various sizes.
The conical design of the tool allows for smooth adjustment of the gap between the rotor and stator when moving the latter in the axial direction. This allows influencing the dispersion results, especially when using heterogeneous materials.
Neither the rotor nor the stator has longitudinal grooves. Therefore, the probability of particles passing through the working chamber without processing is very small. All the above-described properties of the IKA MK colloid mill allow to achieve the smallest particle size - a result that is comparable to dispersion in a high-pressure homogenizer. The MK colloid mill has, however, a higher throughput.
The IKA MK 2000 colloid mill range includes eight different sizes with capacities from 200 to 80,000 l/h. All sizes can operate at the same rotor speed, which ensures reliable scalability.
