The SPP installation is characterized by a low construction height. The unique geometry of the tank and the built-in lifting and tipping mechanism provide unrestricted access to the internal parts of the system. The mixing tank is thus accessible for inspection and maintenance with the minimum space required for installation.
A powerful anchor mixer provides primary mixing of the loaded material, and a flow diverter built into the system serves to change the direction of product flow. Scrapers attached to the anchor mixer blades prevent the formation of deposits on the inner surface of the working chamber and stimulate optimal heat exchange between the product and the double jacket of the container.
High shear dispersion is achieved by integrating the highly efficient single-stage homogenizer ULTRA-TURRAX UTL 1000 into the recirculation line.
The DBI 2000 dispersing machine is the main element of the SPP installation. Its unique design ensures high mixing and homogenization speed while maintaining excellent quality of the finished product. The machine is capable of pumping and dispersing products in a wide range of viscosities - up to 100 Pas. The patented IKA DBI 2000 system consists of two stages: - The first stage of the DBI is equipped with a special rotor, the rotation of which creates a pumping effect. Thanks to it, the bulk is sucked by the dispersing machine from the tank and transported through the circulation circuit without additional pumps. At maximum rotor speed, a pressure of up to 4 bar is achieved, which is necessary, in particular, to ensure high throughput of cleaning fluid during CIP cleaning in place. In addition, the DBI dispersing machine is equipped with an efficient bottom agitator, the blades of which protrude into the conical part of the mixing tank. The joint rotation of the bottom agitator and anchor agitator blades in opposite directions results in high-quality homogenization of the tank contents. The bottom mixer of the disperser is also designed to mix minimal loading volumes.
- The second stage of the DBI is equipped with a rotor-stator cavitation generator, which creates high shear forces, which allows for the crushing of droplets and solid particles, and also promotes the rapid distribution of the dispersed phase in the dispersion medium in the production of stable ultrafine emulsions and suspensions. Turbulent flows created by the rotation of the generator ensure the suction of components into the dispersion zone without creating a vacuum in the container.
Depending on the requirements of the technical specifications, by controlling the DBI valve built into the machine, it is possible to either (1) carefully feed the mixture only to the first stage of the machine and pump it through without grinding, or (2) pass the product with or without suction of new ingredients through two stages of the machine with dispersion and grinding.
The Standard Production Plant SPP supply program includes eight different sizes with volumes from 25 to 4,000 liters.
